Born to a family of noble servants in Canterbury, England, Simon pursued his love for music over his duty to become an upper-class manservant while growing up. In his early teens, Simon was a romantic dreamer who lived for the simple things in life: wine, women and song. As a young man, he moved to London despite protests from his family, to follow his dream of becoming a professional musician. In no time, his charismatic charm and innate musical talent earned him plenty of work in the London's thriving court scene. Very quickly Simon was a became a musician in high demand, often playing at court and other noble functions.
At 19, Simon met Collette, an elder vampire masquerading as a patron of the arts, and after falling madly in love, he saw no other future than to be with her forever. Collette was happy to oblige. After becoming a vampire, Simon bowed out of the spotlight and roamed Europe with Collette, hobnobbing in high society and feeding off of the blue-blood of the continent.
For decades, the two lived as if they were gods, killing, partying and making love, carrying on as if the world would be there playground forever. It didn't last.
One night in Budapest, Simon and Collette were ambushed by a group of vampire hunters in a park. In the end, only Simon remained after a gruesome battle that included the deaths of three vampire hunters, as well as Collette.
That night became a turning point. Simon turned from a carefree, lovestruck immortal to a tortured, blood-lusting beast. For the years following Collete's death, he rampaged through Europe, leaving massive body counts in his wake, reaping revenge on anyone even resembling a vampire hunter or anyone who simply got in his way.
Simon returned to England, where he continued his vengeance, masquerading as a noble gentlemen in high society and slaying all Jesuits and Witchfinders he could lay his hands on. It was because of these exploits that he was tapped by the Elder Council and recruited into the Aegis, the Red Death, protectors of the Bloodkin from the threat of mortal hunters. But Simon was not able to work with others of his kind and when the masque passed from his keeping he was once more set adrift.
To France! Where he indulged in the blood of French nobles, only to be caught and imprisoned in a holy insane asylum, under the watchful attentions of a devote priest. After many years Simon corrupted his priestly keeper and escaped to return to his homeland, where he found things greatly changed. A strong and refined Lady of his own kind claimed the British lands as her own to rule, and all those within them as her subjects. He bowed and swore fealty to the Lady and eventually gained her patronage. But a life of leisure and pleasure is not Simon's fate, for he poached his Lady's own blood slave and earned Her wrath. Skipping town with his playtoy, Simon ran afoul of a truely ancient Bloodkin, the blood-god of the Basque people, and met his death at last as ash on a chapel floor.
