Sigmund Wyrmfoe claims to hail from the original Howler line, who believe themselves to be descended from Fenris, the great wolf of Norse mythology who will devour the world when the Fimbulwinter comes. He rose to packleader of the Tidal Wyrmfoe pack of Howlers by kicking the ass of all other contestants for the role. He has held onto the position for forty years, making him one of the eldest of Howlers and the longest to be packleader in living memory. Sigmund rules justly but with an iron fist, since he knows that there are always young pups seeking to seize his position. He will listen to dissenting viewpoints and seek to choose the right course, but he will act decisively when the time comes. Anyone who directly interferes with his plans is ruthlessly crushed, killed if necessary.
Sigmund's ancestors migrated from Norway during the middle of the 19th century. He has always known that he would become a werewolf, since both his parents were always open with him about their true nature. He has been steeped in White Howler lore since childhood, his father and grandfather having been packleaders before him, so he believes that the Howlers are destined to destroy the vampires and unite all other werewolf tribes under their rule.
While his primary training was in combat, Sigmund's parents recognized that a ruler, which they intended their son to be, must have other skills. Accordingly, he has studied shamanic divination magics as well as those which augment strength. That being the case, he has gained a reputation for foresight and wisdom in addition to might.
His battle training included techniques for subduing other garou with minimal harm and destroying vampires quickly and efficiently. After all, he knows who the real enemies are.
Sigmund has kept his hands off the Silicon Valley so far, since he hasn't seen an opportunity to act decisively. With the new tyrant in power and seeking to consolidate his position, Sigmund senses the time may be ripe to act. He will generally be openly antagonistic to vampires and to their sympathizers.
He has heard of Rafe and accords him a grudging respect, but he mistrusts the efforts of the Fianna to seek peace. Trista is little better than a traitor.
The discovery of Max gives rise to the possibility that there are more White Howlers out there, lost and alone. If you could find these lost ones of the lineage and unite them under your leadership... anything would be possible.
Max is extremely powerful for his age, and looks to become more so as he matures. Is his strength due to the trials he went through during his time as a lost one? Or is it due to his tainted blood? A frightening concept. You hate to admit it but the Howlers have wained in power over the generations. Could inbreeding be the culprit? The idea of mixing Howler blood with non-Howlers is repugnant to you... But what if that is the only way to restore the Howlers to their old strength?
