Delirium - Demented Vampire Childe
Birth Name: Lisa Ann Knifewing Basic Facts Born in Montana in 1950 Hippie Vampire Orphan Character Concept In her mortal life Lisa was a fairly average teenager. Her home-life was a normal one and she was well provided for. Her greatest angst was boredom and a desire to "experience life". Her turning was abrupt and brutal and the wakening of the true beast within herself was the shock that pushed her over the edge. The part of herself that was dark, competent and able to deal with the beast split off and took control and Delirium was born. Her sire, Mint Boy, failed to mentor her in her new existence, and as his interest in his creation waned she was left to fend for herself. She eventually fell in with Mint Boy's old associates, a group of young, orphaned vampires wandering the coast. The group was originally brought together by the ideals of community, humanism and non-violence strived for during the hippie era. These things appealed to her closer-to-original persona, which was able to manifest more often in this "safe" setting. But the Delirium persona, the one that could deal with the beast, was not content and managed to bring about the ruin of the commune by turning "informant". Docile vamps were *not* acceptable within the local community. Especially large groups of Houseless renegades. The horror of being the cause of, witnessing (and maybe taking part in?) her "family's" destruction allowed the Delirium persona to maintain it's primacy. The destruction of the commune also precipitated additional personalities to manifest. Either she diablerized the few others of her group when the big messything happened, or some otherhow, their spirits wound up in her head. Each of them have their own mental quirks and disorders. She thinks she probably diablerized them, but her memory is blank around that whole sequence of events, and she can't quite figure out why she diablerized some of them if she did. Or maybe she's imagining the whole business. Anyway, the others are gone, but she becomes them at times. The personalities know each other, and can communicate among themselves, but don't automatically know everything the other personalities do. She only exchanges information (i. e. talks to herself) when she's alone, or thinks she is; or sometimes when she isn't alone, but isn't busy talking to someone else or doing something. Also, none of them will speak of the whole assumed-diablerie bit, or say much at all about the whole big bang thingie. Personality #1 - Lisa The "light" side of Lisa's personality condensed into the new Lisa persona. Lisa became the sweet little hippie-type who couldn't dream of hurting a fly. She is a relatively rational-seeming if flakey young lady, eternally 16, who invents and re-invents a delusional life for herself, and thinks vampires don't exist. Personality #2 - Delirium (primary) Delirium, the persona that split off when her mind first snapped, was much better at dealing with harsh realities. Delirium is a very strange, childlike yet anything but innocent girl. Delirium is the primary personality, this persona carved around the need to live with herself and her need for blood. Delirium just wants to have fun, and includes a whole lot of things in that definition. Personality #3 - Mint Boy Mint Boy was a lowly ghoul in Emperor Norton's household until he met the lovely Amanda. In Amanda, Mint Boy saw a way to strengthen his chosen House and gain immortality on his own terms. Mint Boy encouraged a romance with Amanda and eventually was turned by her. Mint Boy brokered the deal with Emperor Norton to admit Amanda into the House. After the breakup of House Norton Mint Boy left his housemates to pursue his own interests. Personality #4 - Amanda Amanda, schooled in a nunery, was the ward of the Lady Sabine. While residing on the Lady's country estate near Paris, Amanda met and fell in love with the dashing courtier Jeremy Devereaux. In 1652 Jeremy embraced the lovely and innocent Amanda. After her turning it was revealed that Amanda had been used as bait to trap Jeremy into breaking a minor rule of Sabine's household. Sabine used this indiscretion to cast Jeremy and his newly made childe out of the House. Jeremy and Amanda travelled in secret until they came to America. In 1847 Jeremy's eye wandered to a vibrant youth named Francis. Jeremy embraced Francis (who then took the name John) and spent all his time with his new creation, abandoning Amanda. Since the break with Jeremy, Amanda began suffered bouts of disorientation and dizziness, in which she had oracular visions. Amanda wandered the States for decades, mooning over her lost Jeremy, until she met Mint Boy. She immediately grasped at the chance of renewed romance with this new suitor. Mint Boy courted her and finally won her and she turned him. Mint Boy fixed things with his former mentor, the Emperor Norton and Lord of House Norton, so that Amanda and Mint Boy could stay together under the protection of Norton's House. When Norton's House eventually fell apart and Mint Boy left in disgust, Amanda stayed with the remnants and cared for them. Personality #5 - Theodore Theodore was an occult scholar during the early 1800's. In his pursuit of ultimate knowledge and power, Theodore enlisted the help of the renowned eccentric Emperor Norton. Together the two attempted to conjure a spirit of vast powers the Pharaoh Djozer. The ritual they performed was supposed to purify their human forms and gift them with god-like powers. It backfired as these things always do and thrust Theodore into a realm of constant nightmares and visions. Norton, already being insane was less affected by the spell gone wrong, took the crippled Theodore under his wing and into his House. Timeline 1950 to 1964 - Life on the Range (age 0-14) Her parents own and work a cattle ranch. She was born when her sister was already in college, so they were never very close. She disliked her boring life and as soon as she was old enough, left for California. 1964 to 1966 - Hippie Chick (age 14-16) She made her way to California and San Francisco and dove whole-heartedly into the hippie community. Occasionally she would hear from her sister Trista. 1966 - The Change (age 16) She met Mint Boy, who turned out to be a vampire. He turned her then lost interest. 1966 to 2000 - The Wandering Bretheren After being dumped by MintBoy, she gravitated to the commune of hippie-vamps that MintBoy had introduced her to. She travelled with them up and down the coast, partying and enjoying "life". 2000 - The Day the World Changed A friend of her sister found her and urged her to contact her family. Mallory kept bugging her and finally revealed that he was investigating a blood disease among the young vampires. He weedled blood samples out of her and a few of her fellow commune members. He informed her that they were all infected with the strange debilitating disease. MintBoy became aggravated by Mallory's periodic presence and began acting suspiciously. Delirium shadowed MintBoy until she learned that he was secretly adding something to the ceremonial blood-sharing practiced by the different sects of the commune. Delirium suspected that MintBoy, or someone paying MintBoy was behind the spread of the blood disease. Mallory eventually confronted MintBoy. MintBoy and Mallory fought, during which Delirium took control and joined in the slaughter of the commune members. Lisa awoke from the frenzy to find herself clutching MintBoy's drained corpse. Lisa was driven mad and submerged herself. Delirium became primary. Storylines & Subplots
