House Rex - Character Profile

Alexei Alexandrovich Vronsky
Vampire Childe & Apprentice of Lord Arturo

You are a mage... well, sort of. You were a stage magician and you dabbled in the occult looking for "real" magic. And, boy, did you find some! Your master, Lord Arturo, is a real and very powerful mage. You signed on as his apprentice, being turned into a vampire was just part of the deal.

Born & Turned in the early 1900's.

Plot Point: Beware of Rivals

In your several decades as a vampire you've learned that the society of the undead is a very dangerous place. You're very aware that without your master's protection you'd be long-dead meat. Your powers just aren't strong enough yet for you to break away. So until your powers improve you need to guard your position in the household jealously.

Plot Point: American Werewolf in Russia

You recently returned from Russia on a mission for your Lord. Lord Arturo sent you to watchdog an unawakened werewolf of immense potential power. The man, a US agent know by the code-name Shadowfax, thought he was tracking a Russia agent; but really he was following you. One night his wolfen side awakened, right in the middle of Red Square. The death toll was staggering, but you managed to bring him under control with your magic and keep him mostly subdued until you could smuggle him back to the States. Your master was able to supply you with a talisman to calm the werewolf's beastial rages. You gave it to Hunter, as he now calls himself, and befriended him. Your Lord encouraged you to bring Hunter in for an interview, so that he might join the house and receive continued support and safety.

Plot Point: Occult Power

Your research into the occult has pointed you towards several avenues of "quick & easy" power. There are items of ancient and arcane power that you are searching for (in your spare time, of course). One that seems especially promising is the Shiva Lingam of Haidakhan. An extremely potent magical item, the bearer of which would be able to wield the powers of the God Shiva. You have discovered that the current owner of the object is ignorant of its potential and will be auctioning it off at the convention. You don't dare bid on it yourself for fear of what your master would think, so you need to find someone else to acquire it for you secretly. To gain control of the item's power you will need to perform a sacred ritual. [see Purification & Blessing Rituals]

Plot Point: The Challenges of Training

As part of your magical training your master has placed a curse on you. The curse prevents you from speaking except in a low whisper. You don't know what the purpose of this curse is - whether the test is for you to find a way to break the curse, or if the point is to learn to function with a disability - you just don't know and your master won't tell you. (Gosh, could that be part of the test?)

Plot Point: You're a Decoy

Your junior mage status is a secret. Lord Arturo maintains most of his own spells and protections. You act as a decoy. The two of you pretend that you handle all the magic stuff.

Personality Suggestion: The Creepy Mime

Play up the silent and creepy aspect of the character. A top hat and cape would be an especially appropriate costume.
