What the Humans See: Bobby Mountain River is the owner/manager of a small trailer park in Ben Lomond. He lives in a house he built himself at the back end of the trailer park, surrounded by a modest organic garden. Bobby doesn't advertise, but the trailer park is almost always full to capacity, residents being aging hippies, goddess worshippers, and random counter culture types.
Bobby has a habit of leaving the house naked and wandering up into the woods, returning hours or days later. Nobody really notices or minds. Bobby is a vegetarian. Bobby is in his mid 50's.
Bobby attends city council meetings when he can, and is somewhat active in local politics. He avoids the spotlight, but is pretty effective in organizing people for petitions or rallys.
What the Werewolves See: Mountain-River-Flows-To-Ocean grew up in the hills above Santa Cruz with his Rainchild kin. He grew up with a strong connection to the earth, and always considered it his life duty to protect the wild places. During the late 60's, he saw an opportunity to make an impact in the human realm for the good of the earth. He then moved himself closer to the human spaces and adopted a human identity.
Mountain-River uses the trailer park as a community of like-minded humans and garou. He is very selective about who he lets live there, and will covertly divert anyone away who he doesnt like. He always seems to find a place for members of his pack if they need a place to live. He has been quietly fighting for environmental causes since the 60's, hoping to turn human opinion toward the good of the wild spaces. He avoids the spotlight, knowing that evil is out there, waiting to expose any of his kind.
Mountain-River only eats meat that has been hunted and killed by he or his pack. He maintains several secret places in the woods as places of peace and sanctuary. Mountain-River is a healer and a seer, often turning to the spirit realm for guidance.

Lauren is a Canadian who lives in the US. She was born in a small north-eastern Canadian village, the majority of the inhabitants were, and are, inuits. When she came of age and had her first change, none of the family was very surprised, it was something that occasionally happened in their family. They explained as much as they could and taught her how to get along in society. She became a veterinarian and moved to the Toronto area, although she stayed close with her family.
One year, going home for Thanksgiving, she was out chasing her younger brother, who had run off trying to find his wolf cub. There was an explosion at her house. A man appeared as if out of no where and helped her escape from what he told her were the people who were trying to kill her and had already killed most of her family. She never did find out exactly why these men were out for her and her family, something to do with logging in the area. But she was whisked away by this man, who for some reason she felt she could trust, taken to California and introduced to a small group of people who were just like her: werewolves.
After a few months of growing to trust and then love these people, they too died at the hands of hunters. She managed to kill two of these hunters, and track down another one and kill him. But she was devastated. Two families lost in less than a year. She left California and travelled all over the country. She ended up for a time with a pack that took her in and healed her as much as they could. But she still felt detached. So she returned to California, hooked up with the Rainchildren and has adopted them as her family.

Fred was born into the Rainchildren tribe. He is the younger brother of former Rainchild and former Fianna member Toby. His parents are named Lawrence and Alexandra, and his sister is
named Sarah. All are active members of the Rainchildren. He has a long-term human lover named July.
Fred lives in a small house in Felton, near where he grew up. He remains close to his parents, sister, and pack. He is involved in localpolitics, trying to educate and encourage humans to treat the environment responsibly. He got a degree in Environmental Science from UC Santa Cruz so as to communicate with the humans using their own terminology. He is very protective toward the humans of his territory, seeing them as his proteges in the slow creation of a new, more enlightened way of life.
Fred has no liking for the Fianna, blaming them for the death of his brother.

Ian was born in small trailer park in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Though both his parents (Matthew and Irene) had lived within Rainchildren territory all their lives, they knew nothing of the garou. If they had, Ian's life might have turned out differently.
Ian's earliest memories are of waking in the middle of the night from horrible nightmares of being a monster that slaughtered people, animals and numerous shape shifting creatures (were cats, were ravens, were coyotes). In these dreams he ate human flesh and traveled with those who drake human blood. If Ian's parents knew of the garou, or if the garou knew of Ian, then someone would have been able to recognize Ian's for what they were and would have been able to help Ian adjust to his heritage.
Unfortunately, his parents were tree-hugging, pot-smoking, hippies who attributed the nightmares to combination of an active imagination, getting into the drugs that were around the trailer, and taking his parent's ranting about how "big business is plundering the environment" too literally.
As Ian got older, the nightmares changed. Not only would they happen at night, but sometimes they would happen when he was awake. At times, it would seem that would be triggered by certain places or seeing certain images. Over time, Ian discovered that the visions often included real places and events - events several hundred years ago (around the settling of the bay area by the white man). In these visions, Ian went by another name - "Kin Slayer." These visions troubled Ian greatly and he soon began to feel uncomfortable in the natural areas of the bay. To Ian, it felt like nature itself would glare at him either in anger for the past or in accusation that he would repeat these atrocities.
Ian found escape in school. After graduating high school, Ian left the Santa Cruz mountains for the Valley, where he became a biology major at Stanford with the hopes of eventually becoming a doctor. Ian found the being away from the wilds lessoned the frequency and the severity of the visions/flashbacks. On the rare occasion, Ian would have visions of a different time and a different place. In this place Ian was known as "Swift Sword" and was a respected leader of his people. He could take the form of a wolf and yet he wasn't a monster like "Kin slayer" was.
The first few years of college were uneventful. The visions lessoned and Ian soon rationalized them away (a side effect of troubled childhood). The summer of his junior year changed all that. One night as he was walking home from the library, he was attacked by a common mugger. Unfortunately for the mugger, Ian was not a common victim. When the man struck Ian, something in Ian just snapped. The next thing Ian knew, he was reliving one of those horrible visions - except this time it was not a vision. Ian changed into crinos and tore into the would-be mugger, tearing off chunks of flesh and swallowing them whole.
Realizing what he was doing, Ian howled and ran in terror. He wandered in a stupor for quite some time (possibly a day or two) before a pack of Rainchildren caught up with him. They were passing through when they heard Ian's howl and came to aid him. When they arrived, they found the body and before they had a chance to find Ian they were caught up in "damage control". This pack explained the fact of life to Ian and asked Ian to join their tribe. Ian said yes.
Ian returned with the pack to the Santa Cruz mountains. There he met with the tribal elders and explained his visions. At that moot, a Black Fury came forward and announced that their tribal lore includes tales of a Kin Slayer - a evil and powerful garou who associated with vampires and murdered garou as well as other were creatures. The Black Fury called for Ian's destruction as she thought that he was obviously wyrm tainted. The elders were divided - some agreed with the Black Fury, while others pointed to the Swift Sword ancestor as reason to spare him. Still others thought Ian should be judged by his own actions. The mystics at the group, led by Bobby Mountain River, finally suggested that a cleansing (that would last a month) followed by a test would settle the issue. The ritual was performed to negate any influence any of these 'past lives' would have on Ian and then Ian was sent to the city on a quest to kill a vampire.
Ian went to the city and killed the vampire an brought its head back to the elders who then proclaimed that Ian's heart was free of corruption. This angered the Black Fury who proceeded to challenge Ian to duel. As was custom, the one challenged was free to set the terms of the challenge. Ian was furious; he couldn't believe that someone would want him dead for something he was not responsible for. He was pissed. Then an idea occurred to him. He challenged the Black Fury to a pissing contest, whoever pissed furthest would be the winner. Needless to say, Ian won the challenge, but made an enemy.
Ian has spent the last year in Bobby Mountain River's pack.

Rafe began life as a recessive; alone, confused, and harassed by the world. He established the Fianna once he learned that there were other werewolves besides himself. He searches out and mentors the lost, the outcast, and the solitary, hoping to bring comfort and meaning to their lives. He keeps wondering what he's doing wrong.

Chief Tactician and Strategist for the Fianna, Ajax is rumored to be a veteran of several "undeclared wars" everywhere from China and South East Asia, to Central America, to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He may not be the first to enter the fray, but when he does, his enemies leave mangled or dead. He feels his combination of high-tech knowledge and were-toughness has given him an edge over both humans and weres. Now that the war and aftermath has wiped out most of the Fianna, Ajax has come out of the shadows in order to support Rafe.

Sigmund Wyrmfoe claims to hail from the original White Howler line, who believe themselves to be descended from Fenris, the great wolf of Norse mythology who will devour the world when the Fimbulwinter comes. He rose to packleader of the Tidal Wyrmfoe pack of White Howlers by kicking the ass of all other contestants for the role. He has held onto the position for forty years, making him one of the eldest of White Howlers and the longest to be packleader in living memory. Sigmund rules justly but with an iron fist, since he knows that there are always young pups seeking to seize his position. He will listen to dissenting viewpoints and seek to choose the right course, but he will act decisively when the time comes. Anyone who directly interferes with his plans is ruthlessly crushed, killed if necessary.

A confident, rebellious and complex pup. Maxwell Carter is the youngest son born to the White Howler Tribe, and newest member of Pack Tidal Wyrmfoe. Being an orphan, Max grew up as a street kid - living day to day mostly by breaking the law. As a recessive, he was a late-blooming werewolf - having no idea of what he truly was until he was almost 18. Luckily, he was discovered by Tidal Wrymfoe shortly before his first change and was welcomed as a great blessing to the mighty, but dwindling tribe. He has since been reveling in his new found power and has fully embraced the ideals of his pack. He is currently awaiting the chance to fulfill his Rites of Passage. In the meantime, he enjoys surfing the waves of Gaia's Ocean, tossing back pints at the local watering hole and taking his youthful-angst out on any wyrm-tainted parasite that crosses his path.
