POINTS ASSIGNMENT THE MONSTER MANUAL

Character Points Assignment System

Blood Pool:

Every character has a Blood Pool. The size of a vampire’s Blood Pool is determined from their power level. (See table below.) Non-vampires have a Blood Pool of 10.

Base Attribute Score:

Every character who started out as a living being automatically gets 10 Psyche and 1-6 Brawn.

Power Points:

These are assigned to supplement the Brawn and/or Psyche scores, based on the following criteria:

Age: Every character is allotted power points due to their age with the rate of point accruement depending on their race.

Vampires: 1 Power Point per decade for every decade they are embodied.

All Other Races: 1 Power Point per century for every century they are embodied.

Race: Additional points are allotted due to the character’s race.

Immortals: Immortals receive 1/2 of the Power Points from each immortal they slay through use of the Consume Soul discipline.

Werecreatures: Werecreatures receive Power Points according to their genetic disposition:

  • Half Bloods 1-25
  • Pure Bloods 25-50
  • Recessives 50-75

Ghouls: Vampires can create ghouls through the use of the Blood Slave discipline. A vampire may only have as many ghouls (at a time) as the maximum capacity of their Blood Pool. Ghouls may be gifted with as many Power Points as the vampire desires up to 1/4 the vampire’s own Power Point Total.

Vampires: Vampires can come into being as a new strain or be created from an existing strain.

New vampire strains can be created in three ways:

Deity Corruption: When an embodied deity is stripped of it’s humanity it will transform into a vampire. The god-vampire’s Power Point Total is chosen from power levels 1-5 depending on the deity’s original strength and number of true believers.

Magical Ritual/Alchemy: A human can be transformed into a vampire using magical formulas. The made-vampire’s Power Point Total is chosen from power levels 10-20 depending on how much Psyche is spent on the transformation ritual.

Happenstance: A living being can be born as a vampire if they are possessed by a certain type of astral entity. The born-vampire’s Power Point Total is chosen from power levels 6-13 depending on the strength of the astral entity.

From existing strains, vampire lineage can be passed on in a variety of methods. Several of these are defined below:

Embrace: A living being is slain and then fed blood from a single vampire. The sire may choose their childe’s power level. The childe’s power level must be less than that of their sire.

Group Embrace: A living being is slain and then fed the mixed blood of several vampires. The childe’s power level is the average of their sires’ power levels.

Magical Ritual/Alchemy: A living being is slain during a ritual or consumes a potion in which vampire blood was used with the intent of the magic being to transform them into a vampire. The childe’s power level is determined by the amount of Psyche used in the enchantment up to the power level of the vampire whose blood was used.
