All Pandemonium games are set in the same universe. Each of the "worlds" is a slightly different way of viewing that universe. Each world has its own way of telling the stories of the characters and its own unique story focus.
Currently there are three different Worlds in which our characters frolic.
BloodkinThe central feature of the Bloodkin world, the world of the vampires, is its Society. The vampire body is constrained and controlled by its hungers. The need for sustenance is an ever-present physical lust, but vampires also have psyches; minds and spirits. Their immortal bodies allow them to pass through the ages unchanged; a state that, without a continuing context, would drive their human minds insane and leave their souls empty and deranged. Their society is what gives vampires a structure to cling to, a purpose and reason not to descend into pure bestial madness. It is through the dance of social interaction, striving for advantage, seeking love, plotting revenge, in a network of ever-living peers that allows each individual vampire to survive each moment and every one to come in the centuries ahead. |
WerekindThe central feature of the Werekind world, the world of the werewolves, is its Culture. Werewolves are a hidden people and as such their traditions are central to their identity. Most live double lives, hidden in plain sight within human civilization. The rituals, stories and traditions of their families and ancestors are what bind them together. Individuals and packs may be isolated by the seas of humanity and the need for secrecy, but the ways of the People are known to all and cherished for the unity they provide. The Werekind's cultural practices are what make them a people distinct from humanity, instead of just abhorrent monsters. The life of the werewolf is a struggle; as they live alongside the humans, the anniliators of their race; as they fight to reconcile the wild thing and the thinking mind within themselves; as they strive to rebuild their people into the proud and powerful culture of their legends. |
FaeThe central feature of the Fae world, the world of the faeries, is its History. Not history in the sense of a recorded chronicle of past events. History for the Fae is mutable. In their passage through the story Fae characters unveil and create anew the history of themselves and the faerie race. |
