Characters to be Found in the Pandemonium Universe

Most of the characters in the Pandemonium Universe are supernatural beings or are involved in supernatural pursuits. Vampires make up the majority of participants. Were-creatures, ghouls, human mages, quasi-highlander style immortals, ghosts and other spirit creatures are also included.

[Special Note to the Wackos out there, you know who you are: We (the players) are not vampires, werewolves, etc. You aren't either. Vampires do not exist. We are pretending to be imaginary creatures because it's fun, don't read any more into it. And above all, DO NOT email me to argue this issue.]

The previous list of creatures does not include all of the kinds of beasties which have inhabitted our universe. Any creature from a real-world (or fictional) mythology is welcome to be explored. Although our favorite supernatural races are the furries and the pointy-teeth because they are guaranteed good raw material for dramatic, extreme character personalities.

The type of creature chosen for a character is only the starting point. Each kind of creature gives us dozens of potential archetypes... the newborn vampire, ripped from a life of tawdry sorrow and plunged into the brilliance of otherworldly pleasures; the loney, guilt-ridden parasite, haunted by his mortal past; the aged schemer, spinning plots and weaving webs of deceit in the pursuit of ultimate power; the gaunt undead warrior, rattling the saber of honor, holding fast against the corruption of vampiric hungers.

We do not limit our characters to newborns with modern upbringings. Some of the most intriguing character types can find their origins in the ugly underbelly of the Real World's own history and folk tales. Imagine yourself as a sworn Warrior of God, a knight of the Holy Order of the Templars, in the time when the Inquisitors set their sites on your Order's wealth and power. Then find yourself thrust into the vile embrace of an undead fiend as part of the Inquisition's evil plot to discredit your fellow knights. Contemplate the life of a minor functionary in the court of the de Medicci princes, minor that is, until you eavesdrop at one door too many. Find yourself in Japan, torn between love of family and a magical compulsion to serve your demonic Warlord master. All the richness of the legends and events in our Real World are open to exploitation by our Pandemonium storytellers.

Now that you've got the basics it's time to get in the Mood.
