New To The Path: Is Witchcraft for Me? - Seeker Questionnaire - Study Grove - Energy Working - Center & Ground - The Chakras - Personal Shields - Charging Objects - Spellcasting 101 - Casting Circles - Tarot Reading - Pendulum Dowsing - Making Altars Finding out the Status of your Chakras - Sensing & ImagingWith chakra analysis, as with all things, different methods work for different people. Here is presented one of many methods for divining the health and activity of your chakras. For this exercise you'll need a paper and colored crayons, pencils or pens. SensingDim the lights and sit arranged in a comfortable, yet upright posture; relaxed and calm, yet aware. Focus on your breathing. Let the tensions of the day drain away and envision the flow of energy through your body as you breathe. Focus your attention on the chakra to be explored. Envision it as a flower in the colors appropriate to that chakra. Chakra Colors
Visualize the flower and make note of it's attributes. What colors are in it? (Important Note: Be sure to always envision a chakra's colors as being transluent. Solid, opaque-seeming energy isn't good for your chakras.) What kind of flower does it resemble? Is it open or closed? How rigid or flexible is it? Breathe energy through that chakra and observe how it behaves. Does it expand and contract? Do it's colors change? When you've completed your observation, bring your consciousness back to a waking state, while retaining the image and qualities of the chakra in your mind. ImagingWith the lights still dimmed, but bright enough to see what you're doing, draw what you envisioned. Additional details may come out while you're drawing, go with it. When you're satisfied with your drawing bring the lights back up, stand up and walk around or shake your arms, bringing yourself back into a fully wakened state. AnalysisNow settle back down and look at your drawing. What does the flower look like? Is it a bud with petals tightly closed or undeveloped? Is it partially open like a rose in mid-bloom? Is it open wide like a sunflower or folding back on itself like an iris? What are the colors and qualities of the hues in the flower? Are there any areas of solid, muddy or densely opaque color? Do you remember if it pulsed open and closed with your breathing? Identify features that please you and ones that trouble your. A tightly closed flower may indicate the need for some activating exercises. A widely open flower may indicate that some downward balancing is needed. A rigid flower is another sign that balancing may be called for. "Muddy" areas in a chakra which is associated with certain issues points to the need to deal with those issues in your life. The "ideal" state of a chakra is to be in balance, that is, active, but not overactive. A balanced chakra will appear as a flexible, flower-like vortex which is at the same time not too tightly closed, not too widely opened and flushed with translucent color. Use your intuition when interpreting your chakra flower drawing in order to identify the issues you should work on and activating or balancing exercises you should incorporate into your practice. Ending NoteAlways seal your chakra with a cross or star of white energy when you are finished working with it. Other Methods
